Weingut Theo Abel
Römerstraße 30, 65375 Oestrich-Winkel
The Theo Abel winery is located in the old town center of Oestrich in the Rheingau. The landmark of Oestrich is the Oestricher Kran, which is also the main theme of the wine labels. The original image is privately owned and comes from a childhood friend of Theo Abel's father.
The winery covers an area of about 4 hectares. On this land, 85% Riesling is cultivated, as well as Müller-Thurgau, also known as Rivaner, Spätburgunder, and Dornfelder.
Since the 2020 vintage, we have made some changes to our wine designations. In the future, we will no longer emphasize vineyard designations, but we have sorted our wines by mood. In the Rheingau, the 600-liter barrels are called Halbstück, so we will in the future name the wines after the Halbstück from which they originate.
Wine is our passion. The Abel family has been involved in viticulture for generations. It has always been important to us and the generations before us to treat our soils and vines with care.
