Town Hall Lahnstein

Salhofplatz 1, 56112 Lahnstein

The City Hall Lahnstein, at Salhofplatz!

The Lahnstein Town Hall is a modern conference, congress, and event center located at the historic Salhofplatz. It is surrounded by the 600-year-old city wall with the monumental witch tower.

The Town Hall has been extensively renovated and modernized in several construction phases since 2005. During this process, the building has largely remained unchanged and is of particular significance due to its high-quality design and the transfer of the motifs of the exterior to the interior. Therefore, the hall was included in the informational register of cultural monuments in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2008.

The rooms in the Town Hall for social and gastronomic purposes are spread across several levels and are connected by stairs, as well as passenger and freight elevators, making them barrier-free.

All rooms are ventilated, the large and small halls, as well as the three conference rooms, are additionally air-conditioned. The halls and conference rooms are darkenable and equipped for film screenings. All conference rooms are equipped with sufficient power supply of 16 Amperes and telephone connections.

The spectrum is wide-ranging - from cabaret, musicals, theater, concerts, and exhibitions. The best conditions are also offered for conferences: starting from the parking lot right outside the door, which can also be closed off for events, to various sizes of rooms and a customized gastronomic offering by the in-house lessee.

The location of the Town Hall is undoubtedly rich in history, and there is no doubt about the prominence of its builders.
The internationally renowned Stuttgart artist, Prof. Otto Herbert Hajek (1928 - 2005), designed and shaped significant parts of the Town Hall, which is now a protected monument.
Hajek is responsible for the design of the striking ornamental façade made of colored exposed concrete, which is continued in the design of the walls, floors, and ceilings inside. The carpet in the interior of the hall also reflects the façade in form and color and impresses with its striking appearance.
Finally, the "Lahnstein" in the entrance hall was also designed by Prof. Hajek, a two-meter high, triangular obelisk made of gray Lahn marble.
