In the foreground of the stele, you can see the plateau of the Great Hub. Geologically, it belongs to the marl tertiary of the Mainz Basin. Below, where the plateau transitions into the steep slope, lies the edge of the basin. Geological faults lead over to the Taunus Mountains. Beyond the Rhine lies the Rheinhessen tableland and hills.
