The Regional Museum Koblenz presents its visitors with attractive permanent and temporary exhibitions in four exhibition buildings at the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.
The State Museum of Koblenz is located in the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. It features permanent and temporary exhibitions in four exhibition houses – there is something for every area of interest, both for young and old. One of the main focuses is on cultural and economic history, highlighting developments that changed the world from Rhineland-Palatinate. In the House of Enjoyment, viticulture as an important economic sector of the state is examined, and the topic of photography is also given attention in a permanent exhibition. There, an overview of the history of the medium from its beginnings to the present is presented. In cooperation with the State Archaeology, evidence of human life along the Middle Rhine and Moselle since prehistoric and early historic times is displayed in a permanent exhibition at the House of Archaeology.
Experience the new permanent exhibition "Schaffensland – People. Stories. Work" starting from august 14, 2026. Get to know touching individual cases of women and men from the last 200 years up close. From the working and living conditions of a peasant woman in the 19th century to today's researcher. You can expect unusual original exhibits, exciting media approaches, and impressive spatial designs.
